Otto Warmbier.
I have to admit I can't stop thinking about this late,and tragically young American.
Otto(fourth from right in denim jacket)was the victim of North Korea's brutality,being arrested for allegedly trying to steal a propaganda poster in the hotel he was staying.
I've looked at the video footage,and it doesn't prove anything to me.What really saddens me,is that from the pictures of Otto's holiday in North Korea,that he seemed to be having a great time.
Unfortunately,Otto was arrested just as he was about to go home.He was subjected to a sham trial,given no chance to defend himself,and unbelievably sentenced to 15 years hard labour.I'll never forget the look of anguish and despair on his face,as the North Korean guards were dragging him away.
He was released a year later,but unfortunately,Otto had mysteriously lapsed into a coma.He sadly,never recovered from this.Upon his return to America,Otto passed on within a week after this.
It's still a mystery how Otto had fallen into this state.From the evidence available,it doesn't appear Otto was physically harmed,and he had been in a coma for over a year.
Of course,we will never know.All that has come out of this,is a serious warning about going to a country like North Korea,and the tragedy of someone so young losing their life,thanks to an uncaring regime.
